The Brilliant was a two masted, wood schooner built in Milwaukee.
Last Document of Enrollment 54 surrendered: Milwaukee; 3/26/1857.
Final Voyage

From the Wisconsin Historical Society Maritime Preservation and Archaeology Files:
"The schooner Brilliant, which left here for a cargo of wood some two weeks since went ashore near Peterson's pier, 7 miles this side of Sheboygan, on the night of the 5th. She lies close to the shore, but full of water. Her policy of insurance had run out. A vessel was fitted out yesterday to go to her assistance." MS 12/19/1857 p.1 c.4

She was listed as a total loss of $6,000.
