Service History

The wooden two masted schooner David Wagstaff was built in Vermillion, Ohio in 1863.
Final Voyage

On November 25th, 1890, the schooner David Wagstaff was bound for Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The vessel was carrying a load of building stone when the cargo shifted and broken through the hull causing her to quickly founder. Some sources cite this happened off Sheboygan, Wisconsin while others report that this happened a few miles west of North Fox Island, Michigan where the crew safely made it to Gull Island, Michigan.
