Service History

The wooden single masted scow Hurrah Boys was built in Racine, Wisconsin by Anthony Beffol in 1872. The official registry number was 95341.

October 1872: Capsized off Racine, Wisconsin with a load of 170 barrels of salt.

July 1874: Aground near Chicago, Illinois.

Last Document Of Enrollment Surrendered: Milwaukee: 12/31/1874: Total Loss".
Final Voyage

July 26, 1874: The scow Hurrah Boys, of Racine, laden with stone for the water-works cribs, ran ashore at the Third Ward in Milwaukee. The vessel was initially thought to be salvageable, but she quickly went to pieces, the spars and outfit were saved. The Hurrah Boys was abandoned where she stranded. She was reported insured for $500.
