Service History

Built by the Burger Boat Company in Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 1928, the Anabel II was described as an oil screw fish tug. It sunk while docked at Manistique, Michigan, but was later acquired by the Roen SS Company; under new ownership, the Anabel II was to be converted from a fishing tug to a towing tug.
Final Voyage

The Anabel II was wintering at the docks of the Roen Steamship Company when, on January 12, 1956, it caught on fire and was destroyed.
Today

The wreck is located near the Roen Steamship Company Dock in Sturgeon Bay. While reported by historical sources, the current location and condition of the wreck have not yet been confirmed by archaeological field investigation.
