Little is known about the schooner Coaster.
1859: "Schooner Coaster, supplies, went ashore in a gale and was a total loss amounting to $4,000." History of Accidents, Casualties and Wrecks on Lake Superior 1847 to 1930 Inclusive.
The Ontonagon Miner states that the schooner Coaster was beached on the shore of Presque Isle in 1859. Presque Isle is near Marquette, Michigan.
