Service History

"The steamer Bon Ami was bought by the Hart Line in 1908 and used to carry freight and passengers. After the Hart Line ceased operations, she was damaged by fire while in dock at Sturgeon Bay. Katherine Murphy of Chicago purchased her, rebuilt her and renamed her the North Shore. She was used on runs between Jackson Park and Navy Pier. After her stern was blown off by gangsters, she was again rebuilt."
Final Voyage

"Sometime during the 1930's, after the World's Fair, the North Shore was taken to Sturgeon Bay and abandoned."
