Final Voyage
The following report was printed in the August 27th issue of the 1885 Door County Advocate: "The schooner
Lilly Hamilton foundered in the lake about twenty miles southeast from Cana Island at an early hour on Friday morning, having filled in the heavy sea which prevailed at the foot of the lake at that time. The crew took the yawl and only just got fairly away from the vessel when she went down. They kept the boat before the sea for the next six hours, when they were picked up by the large lake tug
J.C. Perrett, bound up, and taken to Milwaukee."
