Final Voyage

"During a northwest wind, this vessel was thrown ashore near Kirtland's Pier in Egg Harbor. The scow Oak Orchard had previously suffered the same fate in another storm, but had been salvaged and put back in service."

"The scow Oak Orchard, once upon a time of unsavory fame in these waters, is filled with water and lying at the iron bridge in the Menominee river. She is of little value." Door County Democrat, April 18, 1896.
