The wooden scow schooner Foam was built in 1882 by SVD Philbrook in Menekaunee, Wisconsin. Menekaunee, Wisconsin was originally a Menominee Indian Village at the mouth of the Menominee River and is now a neighborhood in the east side of the City of Matinette, Wisconsin.

The schooner-scow Foam, captained by Dan Stevenson, was beached without damage in a remarkable accident near the A.B. Stevenson wharf located near the head of Little Sturgeon Bay in Door County, Wisconsin. During a strong storm late in October of 1905, the craft was picked up by a huge wave and hurled over the abandoned schooner Charley J. Smith which was sunk and abandoned alongside the pier. Although completely beached after the mishap, the Foam was shortly hauled off and returned to service with little damage.

There were two other scow schooners named Foam that are not the same as the Wisconsin Foam Us registration number 120575. Foam US # 37301 built in 1853 in Detroit, Michhgan and Foam no registration number, built in Portage, Ohio in 1850.
The schooner Foam was abandoned in May of 1910. It is not clear where the vessel was abandoned except that it may be at Little Sturgeon Bay in Door County.

The last document, Enrollment No.46, issued at the port of Milwaukee on March 22, 1884, was surrendered at Milwaukee on June 25,1910; Cause of Surrender "Abandoned."
