Final Voyage

April 30, 1883. The schooner Arrow bound from Milwaukee to Leland, Mich., in ballast, ran aground 3 1/2 miles northeast of Rawley's Point off Two Rivers, Wis. Unfortunately, the Arrow was aground on a bar of quicksand, and therefore resisted all efforts to secure her release. Salvers made two different attempts to pump her out and pull her off with tugs. After hours of pulling she refused to move. The captain had her anchors, chains, sails and running gear along with her spars and standing rigging removed. She then was abandoned as a complete wreck.
