Final Voyage

While enroute from Manitowoc to Milwaukee with a cargo of wood and coal, the schooner Hannah Etty sprung a leak and capsized eight miles south of Sheboygan. The crew successfully abandoned the vessel, but due to a poorly equipped yawl (no oars), they had to be picked up by the lifesaving crew. The vessel itself went ashore six miles south of Sheboygan and was reported to be breaking up on August 27, 1880.
