Final Voyage

"Schooner Equator Sunk. The schooner Equator while going into Racine, on Tuesday night, struck the end of the south pier, and stove a hole in her side so large that she sunk in a few minutes. She now lies deck under a short distance inside the harbor. Mr. Bull was the owner, but we have not heard whether there was any insurance upon the vessel." --From the Wisconsin Historical Society Maritime Preservation and Archaeology Files
