Service History

The Alice was a steam paddle built between 1854 and 1864. The only uncovered record of the vessel so far was in a 1933 LaCrosse newspaper, as being buried under Spence's Park aside the wreck of the Johnny Schmoker. It is possibly identified to be thr 36-ton sidewheel Alice built at Onalaska, Wisconsin, in 1864. However, it may also be identified as the 72-ton Alice built in California, Pennsylvania in 1854.
