Final Voyage

"The schooner Mary Ann Larned, loaded with lumber, ran clear through Waterman's Bridge pier at Racine, last Friday night, and went ashore a complete wreck. The accident was caused by the light being down while the government pier was undergoing repairs, by which the vessel was decoyed. She cast her anchors, but the mistake was discovered too late, and she dragged ashore stern foremost. She was the property of R. Confield and Son, and had 25 passengers on board, who got off without injury. Insured for 41000.-(commercial)."
