The Louise burned at Detroit Harbor, Washington Island,Door County Peninsula March 22, 1946.

"WASHINGTON IS.-- An explosion of gas fumes believed to have been ignited by fire in a heating stove destroyed David Lucke's 34-foot gasoline fish tug Louise here Wednesday morning at 7:05 at the dock of the Washington Is. Lumber and Shipyard on Detroit Harbor. No insurance was carried.
So strong was the force of the explosion that the hull was split open at the bow." Door County Advocate March 22, 1946.
