Final Voyage

"The steamer Zalus Davis, bow boat to the Chancey Lamb, sank last night (5/27/1902) in 25' of water in the Mississippi River near Coon Slough. Two firemen who were on the boat had a narrow escape from being drowned and saved their lives by jumping into the river when she began to sink. The breaking of a hog chain caused the boat to sink."
