Service History

The stern wheel steamer Wolf came out in 1858, under the command of E.F. Drummond and ran on the Wolf River route between Gill's Landing, Oshkosh and New London.
Final Voyage

"On September 6, 1863, the Wolf caught fire while at dock in New London. After her upper works were completely burnt off, she was dropped over to the north shore of the river, where she burnt to the water's edge, broke in two, and sunk in 4 feet of water. She was not insured, and her machinery may have been salvaged by Captain Drummond."
