Final Voyage
The sidewheel steamer
Lexington went aground in the middle of June 1850 approximately ten miles north of Port Washington. At this time her machinery was dismantled and put into steamer
Kalooah. From this point on it is unclear what happened. One report says she was condemned and dismantled. Another states she was involved in a collision on Lake Erie a few months later.
