The wooden two masted scow-schooner Ramble was built in 1883 at Saint Clair, Michigan by either Fitch Montegue or Hopkins. Her official registry number was 110675. The Door County Advocate lists a few times, in the early 1900's, that the vessel was sold and the prices were $300, $320 and $375. The vessel was used in the lumber trade in the area of Red River, Preshtigo, and Menominee.

May 8th, 1902. The scow schooner Rambler was wrecked at Red River, Green Bay,after being torn from her moorings and driven ashore. She had unloaded her cargo (presumably lumber), and was moored to the pier at Red River, when a squall came up. She was intentionally sunk to prevent her from pounding. Eventually, however, she was driven against the pier and wrecked completely. The loss amounted to about $500. Captain Ligot had just finished paying her off and had the opportunity of selling her before the fatal trip, but since the vessel was loaded he decided to make one last trip.
