"The schooner J.M. Stack was wintering in Eagle Harbor along with the vessels Jenny and Ebenezer. With spring ice-break came a westerly gale which caused the ice to pile up and crush the Stack. Fortunately, the other two craft escaped. The Stack was owned by Henry Amundsen of Ephraim."
