Final Voyage

"The Free Trader was found in distress by the steamer St. Joseph. The small schooner was leaking badly, so her cargo of fish was loaded onto the steamer and the schooner taken in tow. She was brought to Sturgeon Bay where she was shoved on to the "middle ground" by Dunlap Reef where she filled with water. Several days later, she floated free and was last seen drifting into the Bay of Green Bay. She was presumed to have foundered." Wild Gales and Tattered Sails, Paul J. Creviere, Jr.
